Soundtrack of My Life

I am part of a blogging challenge over at scrapbook.com.  One of the challenges for this week is to blog about the soundtrack of your life. It is going to be difficult to keep this short because music has played such an influential part of my daily life.  I am the type of person that music effects my mood, and my mood effects my music choices.  I love music! All kinds...so here is a glimpse of the soundtrack of my life!

Smile by Uncle Kracker- this is our wedding song...everytime I hear it, I seriously smile...My husband is definitely cooler than the flip side of my pillow!!

Seasons of Love  from the play Rent -a tough song but an uplifting song...my sister was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at the age of 14.  She suffered terribly.  At the age of 19 she became very very ill and this song is the one song that would make her smile...I lost my sister just a few short months later, but when I am having a bad day, this song just makes me smile. It lets me know I have an angel looking over me and everything will be okay!

I Could Have Danced All Night...from My Fair Lady - This song reminds me of my childhood and the years I spent dancing.  This song was our finale song for our recitals every year...and i still remember the movements that go with the song.

Soundtrack of Smokey Joes Cafe are you noticing a pattern here LOL....this soundtrack is full of feel good happy music.  Every Saturday in my house, the whole family would get together to clean...thats right ALL OF US!! my mom would always play music (and all my memories are of this soundtrack on cleaning saturday).  So when I need inspiration and just can't get motivated I play this on my iPod...yes kinda strange that songs I cleaned to as a child make me happy LOL....(no I am not a cleaning freak) My house is usually a mess!

Me & You by Kenny Chesney- this is the song I walked down the aisle to to meet my husband.  I love the words to this song.

Ordinary? No! I really don't think so,
Not a love this true.
Common destiny, we were meant to be, me and you.
Like a perfect scene from a movie screen,
We're a dream come true.
Suited perfectly, for eternity, me and you.
CHORUS:
Everyday, well I need you even more,
And the nighttime too.
There's no way, I could ever let you go.
Even if I wanted to.
Everyday I live, (I) try my best to give,
All I have to you.
Thank the stars above, that we share this love, me and you
CHORUS
Ordinary? No! I really don't think so,
Just a precious few.
Ever make it last, are as lucky as
me and you.

I waited a long time to find my husband...and we definitely do not have an ordinary love!

It Takes Two by Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock yes I am for real here...LOL...this is my JAM!! I love this song...brings me back to my nights at the Tide, and Joe Pops on LBI....hahah good times!!

Me and Mrs. Jones...performed by the band that played our wedding....ok so most people are thinking...its a song about adultery....and Arturo just kills this song...I cannot explain it....Arturo has become a dear friend of my husband and I... and I love his wife so its not like that people LOL...But when he sings this song it gives me goosebumps....whenever we go out to see him play he knows he needs to play this..

Neon Moon by Brooks and Dunn- this brings me back to the mid 90's when my mom, stepdad and myself would go country line dancing at our local moose club...it was always so much fun...then we would come home and practice!

Make You Feel My Love - just discovered the Adele version..but always loved the Garth Brooks version from Hope Floats..just an all around beautiful song...love either version of it!

Well that is just a small taste...I am sure I could go on for hours...but theres a glimpse into my musical life...Thank you for reading and hope you have a great weekend!

  3. Wow...what an amazingly ecletic set of songs. I had to laugh about the Rob Base song... I thought that I was the only person that still loved that song.
